With decades of experience in delivering integrated engineering solutions, Protasco Berhad expands its capabilities in the renewable energy sector through i2 Energy, its dedicated solar solutions subsidiary. Leveraging Protasco’s strong engineering foundation, i2 Energy, a licensed solar solutions provider, strives to provide a holistic solution catered to Malaysia's growing sustainable energy requirements.
Today, i2 Energy powers more than 250 commercial and industrial clients across Malaysia and manages over 20 MW of long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts throughout Peninsular Malaysia.
Its flagship Large Scale Solar 2 (LSS2) plant has surpassed the Maximum Annual Allowable Quantity (MAAQ) for three consecutive years and has been officially recognized by the Suruhanjaya Tenaga for its outstanding efficiency and reliability. It demonstrates a well engineered and constructed plant with a comprehensive operations and maintenance plan. Building on this success, the company has recently secured LSS5 and LSS Sabah EPCC contracts, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable energy development.

i2 Energy’s Flagship Large Scale Solar (LSS) System
Located in Alor Gajah, Melaka, the 9 MWp LSS Masjid Tanah solar farm stands as a testament to i2 Energy’s engineering precision and resilience. Despite the challenges of the pandemic and uneven terrain, the project provided over 200 jobs, was completed on time, and has exceeded its Maximum Annual Allowable Quantity (MAAQ) for three consecutive years marking it as one of Malaysia’s most efficient large-scale solar installations.
